Jean Conover has been working at Milford Catholic Elementary School since July 2015. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Merrimack College. She is proud to say both her daughters attended MCES from 2001-2013.
“I enjoy every day at MCES, but most of all, I love being around the children, and I love that every day is different!”
Mrs. Conover says that MCES has an intimate setting with an appreciation of the individual child. “Every teacher knows every child’s personality. I felt as if my children were part of a family instead of just a number.” She also believes that the atmosphere at MCES lets the children be children a little longer but also prepares them emotionally for entering seventh grade. When the children are in the upper grades, they serve as role models for the younger children. Caring for the younger children gives them a sense of responsibility.
She says people might think by including religion during school, the teachers are preaching or making children memorize bible verses. Mrs. Conover says, “Religion at MCES is more about respecting yourself and others, while learning about the Sacraments, the parts of the Mass and learning about the Saints with events such as The Blessing of the Animals to celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi.”
One of her favorite moments?
“Being new at MCES, I would have to say, in my years as a parent, I had many great experiences. If I had to pick just one, the first thing that comes to mind is the Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony.”
